Uptake spraying oil is a premium quality spraying oil used to improve the spreading, wetting and retention of crop protection products on plant surfaces. Uptake Spraying Oil adjuvant can be used with a wide range of herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. It contains a proprietary blend of ingredients that allows it to it perform reliably across a range of spraying conditions, including in cold water.

In global research, Uptake Spraying Oil gave the highest level of spray retention or droplet spreading of four adjuvants tested. Uptake can be trusted for consistent performance which gives peace of mind and avoids possible spray failures which could require retreatment costing time and money

Why use an adjuvant like Uptake Spraying Oil;

Many pesticides require the addition of a crop oil or adjuvant to improve efficacy. Increased efficacy is achieved by improved spray retention on the target weed, or greater droplet spreading across the leaf surface and improved herbicide uptake into the leaf.

Target grass and broadleaf weed species differ in leaf structure, arrangement, surface, size and growth habit. Leaf surfaces can vary widely from hairy (wild radish), to smooth and waxy (annual ryegrass). Adjuvants help to reduce the impact of these physical barriers to pesticide entry into the plant. If a crop oil or adjuvant is not used with certain pesticides then the water in the spray solution, which has a high surface tension, forms discrete droplets on the leaf surface causing uneven pesticide coverage.

For best pesticide performance, a spray droplet must wet foliage, spread out and cover the leaf. Adjuvants like Uptake Spraying Oil reduce the surface tension of the spray droplet and the interfacial tension between that droplet and the leaf, improving herbicide uptake and translocation for better weed control.

Tips For Use

Mixing:

These are general mixing instructions.

  • Always follow the mixing instructions of each ingredient in tank-mix.
  • Ensure product compatibility.
  • Recommendations on other product labels take precedence over mixing instructions on this label.
  • Add water to the spray tank to 10 cm above the level of agitation and ensure the agitation device is working vigorously. (There must be a minimum of 100 L of water in the tank before any pesticide is added.)
  • If tank mixing, use the following general order for mix partners. First, add water-dispersible granules (eg. Broadstrike), second add flowable formulations (eg. atrazine), and third add emulsifiable concentrates (eg. Verdict 520), fourth add water-soluble liquids (e.g. Lontrel Herbicide) and the last add Uptake Spraying Oil.
  • Between the addition of each ingredient allow at least one minute to ensure thorough mixing before the next tank-mix partner is added.
  • Finally, add Uptake Spraying Oil. Continue filling the tank to the required volume maintaining agitation at all times.
  • Only mix sufficient solution for immediate use. Verdict 520 and any other tank mixes should be applied immediately for best results.

Storage Of Spray Solution

  • Agitate for 1 hour every 8 hours, and agitate for 1 hour before spraying out where spray solution is not applied within 8 hours of mixing.
  • Agitate sooner and/or for longer to maintain the quality of spray solution, if recommended on partner product labels
